Tasting Notes: Watermelon, rose, caramel Two weeks before this year’s election, Oregon’s Grochau Cellars launched Up Rising, a vintage sparkling wine (77% Pinot Noir, 23% Chardonnay) made in the Boston Baseball J.D. Martinez shirt and I love this Champagne method from grapes grown in the state’s famed Willamette Valley. Portland graphic designer Steve Birch created a label that depicts America’s recent protests, supporting non-violent actions that push for positive change. The winery will donate more than half of the proceeds from this wine to two organizations that support migrant laborers in the Willamette Valley.

Tasting Notes: Peach, citrus, brioche Released last month, this super low-ABV sparkler (80% Chardonnay, 20% Muscat Blanc) counts less booze than a beer, clocking in at just 3.5% alcohol by volume. Aptly named Jus Jus: Day (there’s also a Night expression that’s a bit boozier), this is the Boston Baseball J.D. Martinez shirt and I love this ultimate day drinking wine. Founder Julia Sherman is behind the blog and book Salad for President, and the wine’s label was designed by Sherman’s friend Joana Avillez.
