I don’t think OP meant this to invalidate therapy, I just think they’re going through some tough times right now, and the Born To Farm Forced To Go To School Tractor shirt and I love this economic situation doesn’t help. The meme does fall short of the full truth. Mental illness is multifaceted, and financial causes might not be the only causes. It doesn’t mean that finances don’t play a role in mental health, it’s just that there can be other factors, and working with the other factors, which are usually easier to change than finances, can make everything just a little bit better. OP didn’t make the meme, though, they just saw it and it resonated with them at the time, then they shared it. It’s got some truth to it, it’s just not the whole truth. I wouldn’t even say it’s debt but just being priced out of living in my case. No student loans, hospital bills, overwhelming credit card debt, car loans, or addictions to feed. I have a credit score of 799 and I work 50 hrs/wk as a welder (albeit uncertified) but just merely putting a roof over my head will take up at least 3/4 of my income. Luckily, renting a room from my parents is cheap, but at 38 fucking years old, I shouldn’t have to resort to that.
Born To Farm Forced To Go To School Tractor shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt
I finally had the Born To Farm Forced To Go To School Tractor shirt and I love this talk with my boss today about my shit pay. New hires are coming in at a significantly better rate than I’m making after 2 years and my line literally can’t run without me. They refuse to pay me better so I more or less quit today. I have enough saved up to last for months at this rate, but I’m tired of hanging on. It’s been 4 years and it isn’t getting better. So, what are you going to do about it? In my eyes, you are doing well. Yeah, it sucks resorting to renting a room to your parents, but you have no debts, no loans, no other troubles. You have to analyze on what you are doing and what you tried. You know, it’s so strange. I don’t want to die, but I think about suicide all the time. Like, pretty much every day. It’s not that I don’t want to live. I just want things to be better. I desperately want to live a life again. I just want some options. I just can’t see any way out of any the traps that I’m stuck in. My life has narrowed down to the point where it feels like I have no choice about anything whatsoever. It’s like my only remaining purpose in this world is to provide other people with money, but I can barely make any money. Everything else has fallen away. I can’t afford see friends anymore. I can’t afford to date anymore. I can’t afford a car to get out and do anything else. I just have to toil relentlessly at all times and it’s all for nothing but to earn and pay, earn and pay, earn and pay. And I can barely even earn anything. Just enough to pay the minimum on everything. And, even then, I can only afford to eat once a day. I can’t afford to fix the air conditioner, so I’m just sweating in a humid cloud at all times. I can’t afford to go to the dentist, so my teeth are rotting out of my head. I can’t afford to get proper medical treatment for some very serious conditions that I have. I just… I dunno. It’s been a straight decade of this. It’s just like there isn’t anything at all to look forward to. I used to have dreams and hopes and expectations for life. Even simple things like not being alone feel completely out of my reach. You can’t even attract love when you have nothing to offer but a terrible life that contains no joy whatsoever. There’s just nothing good in life and it only gets worse. I dunno. I should probably just delete this. What’s even the point of talking about it? Everyone else is just as trapped and hopeless. Or they were born rich and have no real problems or any idea what any of this is like or why I can’t just magically figure it all out. To them, I just sound pessimistic, I guess. People keep saying that it’ll get better, but it doesn’t. It has only gotten worse for ten straight years. I look to the future and all I can see is how it’s going to get even worse. I look to the past and all I can remember is how it’s gotten worse. It’s just fucking pointless. I don’t know what to do. I wish I did. I want to give up but then there’s no one to take care of my Mother. And I know this because nobody helps now. If I die, then she would. I don’t know. Nevermind. Sorry.
