An at-will state means that the Bone daddy the pumpkin king Jack skellington nightmare before christmas master of fear halloween classic shirt in other words I will buy this employer or employee can end the relationship at any time. There are exceptions to this rule and they fall under the category of ‘wrongful termination’ So let’s say you’re black. And your boss is pretty clearly racist. Yep, tough luck, he can fire you at any time for no reason. In order for this law to come into play, you need to prove it. Which would mean finding other black people who had been fired for spurious reasons, and have a lawyer establish the pattern in a class action lawsuit. My boss was FURIOUS because someone mentioned raises after no feeling appreciative through Covid in the Bone daddy the pumpkin king Jack skellington nightmare before christmas master of fear halloween classic shirt in other words I will buy this hospital. Never seen them so heated. Basically said “how dare you ask for a raise. You get free cookies and coffee sometimes! We’re $3 million in the hole and you ask for a raise?” The day before we heard our hospital is buying another hospital near by and they’re also building another smaller hospital in town. Yeah, they sure don’t have money ? It actually baffles me that this is what regular American workers have to worry about when attempting to create some upward mobility in their lives. I really hope the employment landscape changes for the better in the states and starts adopting a more European outlook on worker’s rights; fucking depressing that this is a thing. Ok America, there’s any quirks and features of all that freedom and I’ve made my peace with the whole gun violence, school shooting drills, dying from because you can’t afford insulin, no paid time off, a minimum wage from the 80’s, lifelong college debt and.. tipping.. But being asking for a raise being a friable offence??
