What japan did was abhorrent and deplorable and one of the Bo Jackson American former professional baseball and football player T-Shirt In addition,I will do this most evil things humanity has ever consciously done. However, I dont think innocent civilians deserved to die in a nuclear explosion that really wasn’t all that necessary, historians say that japan would’ve surrendered due to the soviets invading, or from the simple fact that so much devastation was done from fire bombing they were willing too anyway. There’s a really good video from a person named Shaun on YouTube. Shaun largely cited American sources, most of whom made such statements with little or no insight into the Japanese psyche or zeitgeist of the time, and who were often making these statements for political gain or personal comfort. The USSBS also drew its conclusions on the Japanese surrender without stepping foot in Japan – clearly not a good way to perform an analysis.

Meanwhile, whether the Bo Jackson American former professional baseball and football player T-Shirt In addition,I will do this soviets invading would have done dick diddly is a matter of great debate, certainly not one of historical consensus. And the firebombings hadn’t convinced Japan to surrender over the course of 14 months – why would that change anytime soon? Shaun’s video is at best deeply flawed and at worst purposefully misleading and maliciously using bad history to support a foregone conclusion. I highly recommend you check out any of the numerous critiques of it posted on r/badhistory or elsewhere. I think that’s not really the point here though. It doesn’t make the bombing less horrifying to see, it just means that multiple shitty things happened. But the museum does not mention anything about Japan’s aggression, war crimes, or the simple fact that the entire war was started by Japan.
