I know fabrics have weight, but I just looked through every pair of jeans I own and nowhere does it show what the Bo Bichette Toronto Sunglasses Signature American professional baseball T-Shirt and by the same token and fabric weight of the denim is, on any pairs (mix of Levi and Wrangler). So while I don’t disagree with what you are saying at all, I also have zero idea how you would accomplish this while out shopping for jeans. You’re much more likely to see the denim weights listed if you’re buying high quality selvedge denim since the people buying those jeans are the ones that are aware and care about those sorts of details. I get that and it does make sense, I guess it was more that the comment just said it’s something we should be looking for when buying jeans, when that doesn’t actually apply to 99% of consumer jeans (99% pulled completely out of my ass, maybe it’s 75% and a lot more people than I realize are buying high end jeans). Yeah, it’s really not something I’d expect people to be aware of unless they’re specifically looking for raw/selvedge denim.

Most clothing nowadays is designed to be fashionable, affordable, but also ultimately disposable. Clothing brands listing details about their fabrics and process are a testament to their dedication to good workmanship and creating something of quality that will last. The sad fact is that most clothes nowadays are not quality and don’t last 🙁 Shrinkflation hits every industry… You can still get nice thick denim but most companies are just chasing that sweet sweet profit. I just wish they weren’t so thin and cheap feeling, I feel like I’ll put a hole in them if I bump into a table corner. Even the stitching is worse, the new ones already have thread loops popping out because of poor quality stitching and the thin material doesn’t hold as well.
