I call these people speed enforcers. I speculate they’re a organized group, working either solo or as a team, who coordinate these massive slow downs and traffic jams. I’m guessing they’re using cb radios and belong to a Facebook group or something. Anyway, they get pleasure from the Bloody skull with a cat classic shirt Also,I will get this idea that their effort saves lives. Ignoring any harm they might cause. These people drive me fucking nuts though. Cause right lanes get deleted by exits so I just get in the lane that I can stay in until my exit for the entire way. And if everyone was in the right lane traffic would be backed up into the next state. Maybe different from dusty quiet highways but in Seattle commute it just makes sense I don’t want to hold anyone up, and I expect them to do the same for me. I drive in the left lane mostly, usually doing 9 over the speed limit. Also, I check my rear-view mirror every few seconds to make sure there isn’t a faster car coming up behind me. If there is, I move over. You’re an asshole if you like holding people up. It’s as simple as that.

As a California driver, I can tell you that there is no “passing lane” it’s the Bloody skull with a cat classic shirt Also,I will get this fast lane, and if you aren’t doing at least 80mph, you are going to be holding up traffic, in fact 80 is the unwritten minimum speed here. Its not uncommon to see police going that fast with everyone else around them keeping pace. I personally don’t ride the left lane, but I do get some assholes who think left lane=super speed lane, who get pissed off when I’m just trying to take a left onto my street. The only time I do this is if I need to take a left and it’s close enough. Not going to fight traffic to get to the left. I try to stay in the rightmost lane when possible, but sometimes I’ll pass someone and see someone way up ahead that is going slightly slower than me. If I know I’m chugging along at a good speed above everyone else, I’ll stay in the lane until passing that other person so that I’m not changing lanes incredibly often. Wouldn’t do that if there were clearly others going faster though.
