As a boomer there’s no way I could ever purchase the Blood Stains Are Red Ultraviolet Are Blue Sunflower Shirt in other words I will buy this house that I grew up in because it’s now valued at over 50x what my parents paid for it… My grandfather was able to support a stay at home wife, FIVE children and purchase a home as an insurance salesman in California. My husband and I who both work had to decide if we wanted a house or a child and we needed help with the down payment to even get the house. Walmart is great because they’ll sign employees up for benefits that they’ll spend at Walmart. Talk about double-dipping! Not to mention the fact that any amount of assistance you get from food stamps is going to be MINIMAL if you are working at the same time. I used to work a part time job, and got $15/month for food stamps. No joke, $15.

Wow, that was similar to my situation. I worked and went to college but was living paycheck to paycheck because SF was so expensive and I had no support. Not sure how an adult is supposed to feed themselves in a month on $150 these days with grocery costs as they are without being extremely frugal. Yes I am entitled. When I made a lot of money I’d buy 50 pound bags of oats and make oatmeal to live off $1/day. Now that I get hundreds per month that can’t be used on anything else, I don’t even bother to look at prices anymore in the store.
