I am not as close as I would like to be though. I used buy gifts for her before wedding. Have regular calls, give updates on something happening in my life. But now, I don’t feel like doing anything for them. I talk regularly, ask about their health, give respect and am decent with them though. Never made any hurtful remarks. Woman!!! Are you me? I said the Blood Inside Me Atlanta Falcons And Georgia Bulldogs 2023 shirt moreover I will buy this same things further down in the thread. You are right about the emotional investment. I decided in 2021 that I will no longer invest my emotions in this relationship. This was a direct outcome of her behaviour when she was in my home. I sometimes feel guilty because they are relatively tame considering other indian in-laws horror stories. But every time I go back to invest time and effort I realize they Dont really give a shit about me and its all fake.

So now its time to focus on my life and not be responsible for other peoples baggage. Glad to hear you are also in the Blood Inside Me Atlanta Falcons And Georgia Bulldogs 2023 shirt moreover I will buy this same position as me. I feel for all the daughters out there who dont have this Privilege Same here fellow women. They are also good otherwise compared to other in-laws. But, according to me it’s a basic human thing to not cause harm, emotional/physically abuse, being good to another human. So, I don’t consider that it’s great that they are decent human beings. So don’t feel guilty. I am sure they are not feeling guilty for passing some BS 1950’s remarks on us. Once during a festival gathering, right after a week after wedding. My MIL made a comment on me not wearing earrings, in front of everyone. Although the previous day I had worn earrings and had got an infection and was bleeding, which she knew about. If I share this with anyone, they tell me that it’s just a small thing. Just ignore them, they are old school so they are like that etc etc. But for me somehow, it doesn’t feel like a small thing and I will respect my feelings and keep distance from them as much as possible.
