Also they seem to think if they don’t come to school, they shouldn’t have to catch up on the Blessed By God Loved By Jesus Spirit Pink Sunflower Butterflies shirt and by the same token and work they missed. They just shouldn’t have to do it at all and it shouldn’t hurt their grade. “You missed 9 hours of class, and you think I can catch you up in 3 minutes with 0 effort from you?” Is something I say waaaaaaay too often. This thread is making me sick to my stomach. I’m confident I’m voting for the best options I have with education being high on my priority list. Many older students also cannot identify coins and their values or properly count money and know how much change should be given. Don’t get me started on cursive. For most jobs, it likely won’t matter, as long as they’re able to test people who absolutely need to use math/reasoning skills. Your last two bullet points about research and computers are SO IMPORTANT. I teach university students. They cannot do research. They cannot use google.
