Republicans didn’t end the Blade runner rachael tyrell corporation halloween trending shirt in other words I will buy this filibuster to pack the Supreme Court. Harry Reid ended the filibuster for judicial nominations to fill vacancies on the Federal courts. Harry Reid and the democrats ended the filibuster for judicial nominees when Obama was President, is that what he means? The Senate approved the most fundamental alteration of its rules in more than a generation on Thursday, ending the minority party’s ability to filibuster most presidential nominees in response to the partisan gridlock that has plagued Congress for much of the Obama administration. Furious Republicans accused Democrats of a power grab, warning them that they would deeply regret their action if they lost control of the Senate next year and the White House in years to come.

Isn’t ending the Blade runner rachael tyrell corporation halloween trending shirt in other words I will buy this filibuster a terrible idea? Sure, the initial sugar-rush of legislating according to Democratic (maybe fair to say small “d” democratic) priorities on a 50/50 vote in the Senate will be satisfying, but that will quickly give way to a terrible hangover once control of the Senate passes to Republicans (this year or later) such that they can legislate according to their own insane legislative priorities without effective Democratic opposition. I for one would fear what the Republicans could do with a simple majority in the Senate. Also, the objection of Manchin and Sinema render even most simple majority votes uncertain, and this will create a spate of law changes and legislating every time Congress changes hands from one party to the other. I just don’t understand this argument.
