The reddit app has always been hot garbage. Will anything change for those of us who just access this site via browser? Finally, I can delete my account and leave escape this shitty social media site pretending to be a modern internet forum. They have a history of doing the Bill Madlock Purina Card Pittsburgh Pirates American baseball Player T-Shirt and I will buy this exact opposite of what the userbase wants, then not giving a flying fuck about the outcome. Ah. Well reddit is really done for me then. The entire rework of the UI is so much less user friendly. I’d rather use old fashioned forums at this point Someone please explain this to me like I am three years old. For reference, I use the Reddit app I got for free through the App Store. Videos work, sound works I get ads but just scroll past them so barely notice them. Only thing I don’t like is that when I block gambling ads they often come back. Third party apps just have a lot more customization and options + no ads. I just can’t stand the official app because every post takes up the entire screen. I just want the titles and maybe a small thumbnail on the side. One post per screen is really annoying. After third party the official app feels like a half assed attempt basically. Source: only used third party the entire duration of this account. Tried the official app after this announcement and it felt clunky and I hate not being able to see more than 1-2 posts on screen at once. The forced image previews are stupid I don’t condone what Reddit is doing, but I mostly use their app and can see 3-4 posts on my screen at a time. Of course one of those is usually an ad but still

I got the Bill Madlock Purina Card Pittsburgh Pirates American baseball Player T-Shirt and I will buy this official app setup similar to how I like it just now. Knowing the ads can’t be removed in any way whatsoever is a deal breaker. I requested all my data from reddit for memories sake but I have no interest in ads disguised as community posts every 3rd entry on my feed For context. Rif has 6-9 posts on screen with clear thumbnails and no ads. This new app feels like a kick in the dick Edit: found a workable solution I guess. Fennec + ublock origin let’s me have a ui that loads slightly faster than the official app and doesn’t have ads. So weird that a mobile browser feels better to use than the official app Everyone in the comments talking about android users – I have an iPhone and you will pry my Narwhal app from my cold dead hands
