I’ve just remembered, Salvation Army also collect new toys and distribute them through schools to needy families. I use to organise the Bill Laimbeer Signature American former professional basketball coach Superstar Pose T-Shirt moreover I love this toy drive at my last company and to have someone donate this many would’ve been amazing, don’t worry about it! Forget the kids you’ve just created an amazing Christmas Day for yourself living it up with £360 worth of toys and games. Even if the outcome is not as intended, giving to charity is always good, and if you feel like it you should simply do it! We shouldn’t allow cynicism to block our impulses to be good to others. It’s a beautiful part of our humanity that we shouldn’t suppress. Just do it and try not to care what they think. I’m sure some people will think you’re trying to one up them but you said your job works directly with these families so I’m sure other people at your work have done the same as you or thought about doing the same as you. If you’re really self conscious about it you don’t have to bring all the presents in on the same day and just bring in a few at a time. I don’t bake but after lots of practise and luck I managed to bake a cake and bring it in to donate. My coworker shows up with bags and bags of store brought cakes and cookies. Mf I was riled at first, but I realised it wasn’t about who did the most, it was about the fundraising and not who brought in the most.
