Germany will be done with their transition in 10-15 years. France will still be using nuclear. The sun and wind will be there for as long as humans can live on earth. Nuclear fuel will run out. Maybe not in 10 or 30 years, but eventually it will be gone. Germany will not be done with its transition, no one in Europe will be, except maybe Sweden. Germany is still using 75% fossil fuels for its energy needs, France is still using 50%, Sweden is the Bigfoot is More Believable Than 81 Millions Votes Usa Flag T-Shirt moreover I will buy this outlier at 20% only. Electricity is only a small part of our energy consumption. As for “renewables”, the sun is renewable, wind is renewable, the massive amounts of materials needed to build panels and turbines aren’t. You are right that nuclear is difficult to ramp up and down (although new power plants are addressing this issue) so it should be used as the baseline energy while the rest is renewables It was about the same orders the couple of times I checked in May (2 to 3 times the renewables, 10 times the emissions). 89% of France’s electricity is non-fossil fuel. Quite disingenuous to just remove this information when comparing the two countries.
