The difference is they’re taking it seriously and trying to claim they’re all the second life type of realities merged into one headset. Which… it isn’t. Im not a fan of fb and zuk but I don’t think he’s as crazy as pple are making him out to be. I think he’s just trying to get ahead of the competition with VR. He sees VR becoming a new media platform. I’ve experienced it myself, I can’t say I disagree. Their focus on Oculus also seemed very successful.

It’s so bad too, I watched a video of a group trying to use it in an office setting and it just sucked. It’s very clunky and looks at least a decade or too before it’s relevant in the Biden Falling Off Bicycle Fallin’ With Biden T-Shirt in addition I really love this workplace I attended a conference in a non-Facebook metaverse application (a much simpler one) and I really just fail to see any benefit to it does whatsoever. The metaverse is a supposed to be a global network, not just one app. I’m not a fan of Zuckerberg or Facebook, but I have been obsessed with personal programming projects and I have to admit that if I had Facebook money I might go out of my way to try and see them to completion. I feel a little bit bad for this guy who is clearly a giant computer nerd like me, but also should never have ended up in charge of this kind of operation. How can you produce more but spend less than the nothing you currently spend… Virtually of course. Every major corporation is betting big on this. Selling fake items in a virtual space with zero production costs besides the labor to them sounds like a goldmine. The thing they forget is that we grew up with video games. We already are trained to ignore shady monetization schemes. Their thinking is to adapt the video game model to the workplace environment and its 100% not going to work. In ten years the tech sphere is going to be a completely different place than it is today based on all these tech giants placing huge bets on tried and failed ventures. Aren’t there enough science fiction books out there warning us this is a bad idea? Do you think Zuck knows he’s a villain?
