Then I’ll give them my actual tip in cash when they arrive, and often it’s at least $10 more or even higher if it’s best to match whatever is about 20% of the bill. If I were in your position but tipping my way, I probably wouldn’t add more because I think I’m already giving them plenty as I usually do, and the mistake again is on them not me. I figure in addition to what I’m still tipping I’m also kinda paying in not dinging their rating or making a big stink about it and adding to their burden even more like a Karen would. I don’t know how you normally tip, but if you’re someone who just tips via the app and sticks to just like 10-15%, unless the driver was being a total douche then yeah I’d tip them a couple bucks more just for the hassle. Though if this sort of thing happens more than once, I don’t know if I’d tip extra in future deliveries because that “15-20 miles out of my way from one wrong turn” could also be a prime example of someone multi-apping and trying to cover it by claiming to have just gotten on the wrong route. I live way out in the boonies of my state and even then with these long county roads, I don’t know too many mistakes or detours that take me that far out of my way to come back ‘round.

It would be a nice thing to do, but I personally don’t think you’re obligated to compensate them for lost time/gas etc. caused by their error. I mean you don’t need to yell at them or anything I’m sure they already felt dumb once they realized what happened, but we also don’t need to give prizes to the Ben Terry change the channel shirt What’s more,I will buy this inept. Might seem harsh, but their inability to navigate is not your problem. Don’t get me wrong, Google Maps/iMaps is dumb sometimes, but there was no reason they couldn’t have turned around. I wouldn’t increase someone’s tip because they didn’t provide me with good service. Why would someone get a higher tip because their error caused your order to be late? I’m not really getting that logic. I’m always kind. I don’t complain. We all make mistakes. And I always tip generously as a baseline. But I’m not going to increase my tip because someone screws up.
