Yep Tamir was 12 years old. Cops executed him in a drive by shooting for having a toy that looked like a gun in a country where you’re constitutionally granted the Behind every calm cool and collecter nurse a patient waiting change halloween T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this right to own a real gun. What a joke. We don’t have that right if you can be shot and killed on sight for even looking like you have a gun on you. NRA is awfully quiet The NRA is pretty much always quiet in these situations, especially when the victim is of color. It’s the same with Philando Castile who the NRA should have been incensed by his murder. He informed the cop he had a legal gun on him and was murdered for it anyway. He did exactly what he should have done in that situation and yet it didn’t matter. If a person had any intention of killing a cop they wouldn’t inform them that they had a gun first. This reminds me of a very dark joke on Veep: “Mike moves slower than a Mississippi detective investigating the murder of a young black man”. Yeah. I’ve got nothing further to add aside from this; we live in a grotesque joke of a country. Answer is simple. Police exist to punish you, not help you. The very definition of the verb “to police” is to control. Our legal system isn’t seeking justice, it’s seeking punishment and control. They exist at their most base level to keep the rich in power and us tamed. Rules dont apply to them the same way they do us. Something people don’t seem to realise Actually it really is “Police exist to punish you if you are poor or dark skinned”. If you are very rich, you can do what you want unless you harm other very rich people.
