Hey everyone. I started making content a few months after I was mentored by a bigger Youtuber (2.65 million subs). I almost lost my “want” to do this, but I found it pretty quickly later. I met this Youtuber after watching a video of his where he accidentally showed his Amazon warehouse nearby on a fan mail video. I told him he should be careful, because I knew almost exactly what city he lived in and even just holding up something like that could cause him some trouble. We’re both Veterans so he invited me to a brewery with his wife. We shot in Denver and after hearing about how amazing I was at shooting and finding interesting people for him (because he gets high and drunk while were shooting) he wanted me to edit for him. We finished the video leaving about 10 of the interviews on the floor and hours worth of footage. He posted the video and I left.

Fast forward through me leaving to Texas and then back to Denver. I shoot another video for him in Downtown. I was supposed to call him and tell him I was editing so he could monitor my progress. Mind you again that I’ve been editing since 2013 in film school. I finally got fed up, stopped working and quit. I felt so insulted working for him the entire time. He is 100% the most abusive person I’ve ever met, but of course his fans don’t know that from what they see of him. I stopped making content for a few months, until I woke up one day and felt better about myself and the situation.

One of which is at 1.2 million views on Tiktok and another that went to 500k views and “reacted” to them. I did give him permission, this is when we were friends. I almost have a thousand subs on Youtube, I’m performing stand up now here in Los Angeles and trying the best I can. I hope we all win and stay humble!
TL;DR: I worked for a super toxic bigger Youtuber that treated myself and his wife like a hostile work environment. I had enough after a couple months and quit. His subs don’t know how he treats his wife with disrespect everyday, he’s not funny, he’s not a personality, he’s a reaction channel guy that’s great in 60 seconds or less.You should make a video about it bro. Guaranteed a million views I’ve debated that honestly. I just don’t think I’d want to put it on my page as it wouldn’t make sense for my content. I just started a new project for my channel that’s doing okay! I’m posting 5 shorts a week and 1 feature video a week. It’s making my time a lot easier. I was trying way too many videos for shorts. That was one of my biggest pet peeves about him taking my content and reacting to them, getting 100 times more views on youtube than me and saying it’s because he was more experienced, knows more than me, and how I need to cut my videos to 15 seconds or less. There’s no way to tell my stories in that amount of time unfortunately.

Sweetest thought during covid was imagining those parents having to deal with their offspring themselves all year long instead of being able to pawn them off on teachers, daycare and summer camp.

I own a gym that runs kid focused movement classes. I’ve had parents walk up to me and, right in front of their kid, say “Jimmy can’t wear these shoes he brought because they’re not acceptable shoes here, right?” with that look someone gives you that says “I’m setting you up. Please tell them that they can’t wear these shoes because I don’t know how to tell my own son that”. I wish I had had even a poor school system to go to, to get away from the danger at home. There is a very big difference between that and people that genuinely focus their time and effort educating and, yes, socializing their children.
