Planning on getting game tomorrow…..should I? Is it really worth it? Or will it just anger me to the Be strong as a lion classic shirt and by the same token and point I also punch walls in my house? A thing that helps me make progress in soulsborne games is to try to think of them as rhythm games more than regular combat games and Elden Ring has been no different (albeit I’m still in the first area running around exploring everything). Going all in on enemies will get you killed real fast so it’s better to find patterns and play around them. To anyone who is interested in elden ring but hasn’t played a fromsoft game before I think it’s important to remember that you will get frustrated, but that’s by design. The addictiveness of the games comes from learning each boss’ movesets and learning when the opportune time to strike is. Going from getting absolutely destroyed the first time you fight a boss to eventually killing it, even if by a hair, is one of the most rewarding game experiences out there. Taking the dark souls formula and making it open world turned out to be better than I could’ve imagined it to be because now when you hit a boss you really just can’t get past you have the option to go out and explore and come back to it later when you feel more comfortable and have leveled up some. It’s well worth a buy, even for people who haven’t played a game like this before.

This is my first game of the Be strong as a lion classic shirt and by the same token and style and my biggest gripe thus far is that so many combat systems don’t matter vs bosses, and you’re fighting bosses more than half the time. Combos, parries, counters, stance-breaking, are all cool mechanics. But then bosses’ attacks are almost all uninterruptible and very fast. So you just end up blocking and rolling most of the fight and learning where you can get in a single light attack. Then it’s back to more rolling. As a player of all soulsborne games, minus demon souls, about 98% of the time I realized I died because I made a mistake. Rarely do I feel that my death was pure Bs. I just remembered what I did wrong and try again. However, if you are the player who gets upset at every death or any obstacle, then no. This game is really about learning by trial and error. because of the staggering amount of unique bosses and enemies, you are almost guaranteed to die a lot until you learn how to beat them with your own set up. For new bosses I usually die at least 3 times or more until I learn their attack patterns.
