Other than that though nothing. I’d definitely never go out of my way to get smart devices, but so many new appliances just have them as default now. We’re looking at getting a dishwasher and so many have wifi and remote capabilities. What good is remote capabilities? If I’m not home, I can very well remote load it, so what goo is turning it on? I can see that being useful if you invite someone to dinner at the Batman literally me shirt in other words I will buy this last minute while you’re not home, only to realize you haven’t done dishes recently and need something that’s in there if you’re going to cook everything in time. Which is the kind of thing that probably doesn’t happen to most people a whole lot, but I have had it happen once or twice before. I feel like that’s the issue with a lot of smart appliances. It’s not that I can’t think of reasons they’d be useful, it’s just that a lot of those uses are so rare that the added cost doesn’t quite justify the extra features for me.

Why exactly do people even want “smart” ovens? Like my oven just heats/cooks my food, what does it need wifi for? We have one smart bulb – in my daughters’ room, so my five-year-old can ask the Batman literally me shirt in other words I will buy this Echo to turn on the ceiling light instead of needing to get me or her dad to do it. That’s the only one I want. I don’t want my lighting to be internet-dependent. My landlord (a large corporation) got rid of their customer service website, and switched to an app. An app that does not work. It has 1.5 stars on the app store. So now if I want anything from my landlord, I have to call or write them a letter. BUT THE APP IS BETTER THOUGH INSTALL THE APP Tried the Chinese made smart bulbs and faced the same issue as you. Splurged for the Phillips and I’ve not had a problem in 4 years. That said, it’s hella expensive & not worth it if you don’t have the throwaway money for it. Im okay with devices that have an app that might let you have more control but you should be able to use the device without the app to I bought an LED strip to backlight my aquarium. Oh it has full color customization, scheduling, light levels! The app worked the first 10 minutes, then it would no longer connect, making the lights default to a vomit-green color. Did the smart bulbs a few years ago and while it was novel and fun at first, it got old real quick. Always disconnecting, google not knowing what light I was talking about, was the switch up or down….a mess!
