My shoes! I wore a white pair of ankle boots (almost cowboy without being actually cowboy). They have a thick heel because it was an outside wedding and they are so comfortable. I had two small weddings in different cities because neither of our families could travel, so I got to wear everything twice. We may someday do a vow renewal because we always dreamed of a big wedding and for various Covid and family reasons couldn’t. If that happens I hope to get a third wear out of everything. I wore a necklace that I wear every single day, and I’ve reworn my bridal earrings several times for special occasions. This is kind of a niche example, but a friend of mine, who is into larp and Renaissance Faires and such things, had a wedding dress (I think it was custom-made) that was basically a white crushed velvet old-timey-looking ball gown with gold trim, and she has subsequently worn it to the Badly Drawn Bitch Shirt and by the same token and nearby Ren Faire several times. Sometimes it’s just the dress on its own, sometimes she spruces it up with, like, an outer layer and a matching hat or whatever. But she’s gotten a lot of mileage out of it, for sure.

I’m not married yet, but – being that I am also into larp and Ren Faires and the Badly Drawn Bitch Shirt and by the same token and like – I’ve had vague thoughts of getting a wedding dress (probably also would need to be custom-made) that looks like an iconic white dress that a particular character in a thing a thing I like wears, so after my wedding I can use it for cosplay purposes. I got married in a shawl I hand knit from yarn I dyed (would wear this again even as a scarf, but just haven’t for no reason at all) and a vintage lace top from thr 1930s, plus a vintage lace skirt from the 1930s. I consider them all things I could wear much more casually or with less wedding-like accessories and they work. I still wear the fake anemone flower I put in my hair. As for my dress I got it on unique Vintage so while it’s still a wedding dress I could technically wear it again to a fancy restaurant or something. I can re-wear everything except the huge skirt! I bought a beautiful sparkly lengha skirt – had a velvet low cut top made with poppers (can’t remember what this is called) that I can now wear with jeans. Doc martens because it was a winter wedding and you couldn’t see my shoes anyway and amazing earrings from a small biz Wolf&Moon in the UK that I wear all the time!
