Fucking finally, Predator should have been a anthology set in different centuries from the get-go. Pirates, Native Americans, WWII, Samurai Japan. I’m disappointed this movie is going to Hulu instead of theaters, same thing with the upcoming Alien reboot/sequel. Everybody excited that this is a callback to the “1715” pistol from Predator 2 should remember that film was also the origin of the xenomorph skull that eventually led to the creative cul-de-sac that was AvP. So, grains of salt all around. Honestly I like the flash back to when they found the pyramid under the ice and did that flashback to when they ruled. Be cooler to do that era, find out how or why they left. One day they may make a Predator movie that comes close to the original. One day. They’ve had half a dozen shots though so I won’t be holding my breath. This sounds like it could be fun but it will (at the end of the day) still be the same movie they have been making since the first Predator movie.

It amazes me that they can’t make a Predator movie with a different premise. Alien has kind of the Back Off I Have A Crazy Dad American Flag Shirt But I will love this same issues, Terminator DEFINITELY does. I like the idea basic concept of rather than making the predator more and more advanced, they make the protagonists less advanced, it increases the threat without needing to make it ridiculous. My two predictions, which I hope are wrong; it will tie in with Billy from the original predator who was a Native American tracker and from this article “the protagonist will be a woman who goes against gender norms and traditions” so I’m thinking the Predator will end up also being revealed as female. This is a natural way to do representation. I assume they’ve hired a cultural consultant for the particular First Nation so that they can accurately represent them on-screen and hope they hired from that community as well.
