I’ve been a baseball fan Baby Yoda Holding New York Yankees Baseball shirt sweater entire life and until this morning did not know that for their first decade the Yankees were named the Highlanders. I’ve never seen or heard this mentioned. Another interesting little factoid. The reason they were called the Highlanders is that they played at Hilltop Park on the northern tip of Manhattan. Which is the highest point on the island? If you want really old sports teams look at cricket. Where the oldest cricket club has been on the go since 1685.

It’s so weird how old baseball is compared to basketball. The national league is almost 70 years older than the NBA. 90s basketball is like the equivalent generation of 1920s baseball. I mean obviously science and stuff have all advanced so Baby Yoda Holding New York Yankees Baseball shirt sweater wouldn’t be the same. But that’s just crazy. If you start from when the MLB founded it’s like the 60s. I know it’s British, not American so the scale of time might not be as impressive. The Football Association the governing body of football in England was founded in 1863.

Similar story with the Atlanta Braves. The team originated in Cincinnati as the 1869 Red Stockings. After one season the team moved to Boston and became the Boston Red Stockings. Then they changed the team name to the Boston Beaneaters, then the Boston Braves. The team moved to Milwaukee and finally to Atlanta. The current MLB teams in Cincinnati and Boston were both named in honor of the Baby Yoda Holding New York Yankees Baseball shirt sweater Red Stockings team. I knew the Braves were in Milwaukee before Atlanta but didn’t know they were in Boston before then.
