We need to start carrying our own donation stuff so anytime they ask us we can whip it out and do the Baby Groot happiness is listening to Toby Keith shirt and by the same token and same to them. Be like no thanks I actually have my own organization I’m donating to would you like to yourself? Businesses seem to forget that a tip is for a service, if you’re not providing me some kind service beyond what I’ve already paid for you shouldn’t be begging for a tip. I organized a donation for town sports when people checked out at the local market. It’s optional, hit $1 or hit decline. The cashier doesn’t have anything to do with the option on the screen. It is none of their business why you declined. You may have already donated or the money has been earmarked for other charities.

Yea that’s a definite no from me. Wine bottles are sealed so it’s not like they can spit in it because they think you’re a jerk. We just started doing this at work. Come to find out, the Baby Groot happiness is listening to Toby Keith shirt and by the same token and company has already made a donation, the “donations” we collect are just to repay the helpful company. Seriously. My job forces me to ask if people want to round up for the charity of the month. I get yelled at by my bosses when I dont ask or I get lectured by the customer about their personal beliefs on the subject. All I hope for is to finish my sentence I’m forced to say and to get a simple “yes/no thanks”. I don’t care what you decide to do with your money in that instance, I’m just trying to make my hourly wage. It’s basically become a game of seeing all the ways people can be rude in saying no that this point. This interaction is painful for both of us Whenever I get asked to donate to something, I give a polite smile and say “Thank you, but I have my four charities that are personal to me that get my regular contributions.” It shows you’re not totally heartless, but lets the person know you’ve chosen to donate elsewhere.
