Let’s not pretend that Kennedy is going to keep polling this high. Other third party candidates in recent years started strong, then were just a fart in the Baby Groot and Rocket Santa Christmas tree shirt also I will do this wind by November. Wouldn’t be so sure about that. Republicans aren’t exactly logical. There’s plenty that hate Trump but think Dems are socialists, so they’ll go with RFK because “polling is a lie, he’s doing better than they want us to believe”. The difference is, other third party candidates have never been as effectively promoted by a major party and its news outlets before. They are generally considered a fart in the wind by the major parties and ignored as such. Not platformed. Certainly not promoted. If not for the Republicans and Fox News Kennedy would be ignored. The DNC didn’t take Kennedy very seriously (except for the ever-present handringers of the party) even when he was attempting to run as a Democrat. He would have been buried by Biden in the primary. End of story, end of candidacy.

The right thought they could influence that by, what? Giving him a platform and praising him to their gullible and highly persuadable audience? Wow. Wasn’t JFK Jr supposed to be a beacon of light for QAnon? The Kennedy name already resonated with them. So, of course, RFK Jr. is going to resonate with them. Compared to wannabe QAnon savior Trump, Kennedy is the Baby Groot and Rocket Santa Christmas tree shirt also I will do this real deal. On the other hand, with the level of anger and for some segments virulence (magat’s) , if Trump is not nominated, Kennedy could get a lot of gqp votes. He doesn’t need many votes to swing the election. Ralph Nader swung the 2000 election with about 10,000 votes each in Florida and New Hampshire. The only reason I care about RFK is that it’s much harder to enjoy Curb Your Enthusiasm knowing Cheryl is married to him They really expected that because he was as a Kennedy and a Democrat that everyone who was liberal or democratic would just up and vote for him. Spoiler alert, all of his unhinged views are super popular with conservatives. They think everyone else has their same fondness for family dynasties, and that dems would take the bait to remake the Kennedy one. For some fucking reason. RFK Jr. is the easy off ramp that Republicans will choose who can’t support Trump. Which is like half the party.
