The various situations I have run circles around NTs… I can explain my steps to solve something or even try to explain the Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers Righteous Gemstones Shirt and I will buy this general approach but most can’t adopt it, either it’s too alien to how they process information or they don’t have the familiarity with so many diverse subjects… My wife applied for a job running the office for a small company. She answered the questions how she thought they wanted to hear. Typical interview stuff. The owner had some bar graph based on personality traits and the questions he asked. I can’t remember if it was enneagram or some other psychological trait test. She aligned perfectly with the graph and was hired heavily off of that. The guy essentially wanted her to run his company while paying her less. Was a unique way to vet people but doesn’t really work out that way in real time. It reminds me of tire kicking. Car salesmen will refer to people as tire-kickers who usually loaf around, pretending to be customers by checking out the cars and wasting everybody’s time by doing so. In that respect, I’ve seen many employers do the same by pretending that they’re hiring by copy/pasting ads, gathering resumes and just not following through.

Theres a company I’d like to work for. My skillet is pretty niche and their are very few postings. This company has recycled the Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers Righteous Gemstones Shirt and I will buy this same 4 job “openings”, 1 each quarter, for the last 6 years. I went to school with a couple people that work there and have confirmed that company is NOT filling those positions. One of the repeat postings is for his team….. They have NOT added any staff. I work at a big multinational. Our HR and equality policies are such that if we want to hire for most full time roles we must look internally first for some defined period, but for some roles where the role hasn’t existed before we are forced to put it out to externals first before considering internal candidates. This leads to insane situations where we put out a role to a bunch of agencies and interview for it, knowing full well we already have a guy we want to hire internally but need to box tick through a process first. It’s bollocks. Most likely they are building a resume file for positions that have what they have determined to be above-average turnover.
