In any other field, you dont avail of a service before you can pay for it, let alone months in advance. But just because it’s plumbing its like people dont care or value it the Awesome Star Wars Day May The 4th Be With You 47 Anniversary 1977-2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt moreover I love this same. Uh, plumber here. This isn’t normal. They owe because he lets them owe. VERY rarely have I ever left a job unpaid. If I remember correctly, one of the only times I haven’t been able to collect on a job upon completion is because the customer died. Hey random question. What’s a reasonable price to change out a shower cartridge on a run of the mill moen singlr shower valve thing? I’m no plumber or even that handy but I youtube it and did it all by myself in 20 mins. Look up someone youtube videos it’s pretty simple. Oh no, I did it myself as well. A plumber was going to charge me $300 (that’s with a $100 discount). I was like screw that. I just did it myself. That’s about what we’d charge. 225 an hour plus parts. And depending on the cartridge you’d be looking at about a $300+ total. But if you’re not confident you can do it properly, please call a professional. I cannot tell you the amount of times we’ve been called to clean up after a DIYer or someone’s “buddy who can do it cheaper.”

I work in HVAC and trust me all the Awesome Star Wars Day May The 4th Be With You 47 Anniversary 1977-2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt moreover I love this plumbers and HVAC techs constantly break shit but we are just able to always fix it before somebody notices. I miss having a house heated by water instead of a furnace. Also never runs out of hot water no matter how many people wanna shower This is what r/oddlysatisfying started out like. Stuff like this. Cable managed servers. Super organized nice things. I approve, I sometimes get to layout pipes (for systems a little larger diameter) and a clean, thought out arrangement is so nice That’s how it should look every time. At least the copper should, looks like controls free wired a bunch of shit instead of having an installer run flex or conduit like they should’ve but that’s on whatever PM was involved not the controls tech. My BiL is a plumber and does work like this. The inspector who came to look over the furnace he put in for me said it was the cleanest job he’s ever seen. BiL was 24 at the time. For a start, why so many shut off valves? You shut off the start of the fucking circuit with one valve and do what you need to do lol. You don’t need a valve at the start and end point of every point on the circuit lol. The pump for example has two valves, one on each side. Wtf is the purpose of that? Then all that links into a regular ass boiler…. Its not even industrial. I can’t really think of a single situation where this would be the best way to do anything lol.
