Depends what your warrant is for. I missed a court date for no proof of insurance and a warrant was issued. If it’s something petty like that, it is usually “book and release”. I went to the Awesome have You Heard This Man Mr Breakfast T-Shirt moreover I love this jail at the county courthouse at 5AM to turn myself in. I was taken in, photographed, finger printed, pat down, and in a large cell with TVs and magazines for about 10 minutes before I was released with a new court date. No strip search or changing of clothes. It was an overall not bad experience, everyone was super respectful and courteous. Still likely to happen. When you turn yourself in, they’ll regular search you, probably book you (so picture, fingerprints, etc). You’ll sit in a holding cell for a while. Your best bet is that if it’s not a serious crime, maybe just unpaid tickets or something, cuz turn yourself in early in the day on a weekday not right before a weekend so maybe Monday through Wednesday would be your best shots. That way, you will be put in front of a judge and most likely either a new court date will be set up for the judge will tell you that you need to pay your fines and then set up a schedule of payment with you. Follow the schedule payment and you’ll be all right. I’m sorry about the body dysmorphia, as that is going to be difficult for you to deal with. If you are on any anti-anxiety medication, it may be a good idea to make sure that you’ve taken me some before you go. If you have any meds that you need to take, it may also be a good idea to take them, be sure that they are in their proper pill bottles, with you. After you are booked, they will need to get you in jail clothes and so they will put you in a room and tell you to strip down. They will most likely be in the adjacent room grabbing clothes that will sort of fit you. They will have you pass your clothing back through the window and exchange it for jail clothing. There will not really be anything to cover yourself with, but it will most likely be one female officer handling that part of the booking process, and it’s probably as painless as it could possibly be while still allowing them to make sure that you are not taking any contraband in with you. Do you have a doctor you can talk to about maybe something to help with your anxiety? Your anxiety is going to fuck up your life so badly that I’m wondering if someone might be willing to just give you an Ativan to get it over with. Maybe a therapist who can talk to you about coping strategies? I’m really sorry. You get totally naked. And you gotta circle then squat and cough. Unfortunately your getting strip searched whether your comfortable with it or not. You have a warrant out for your arrest and will be booked. Turn yourself in and things will be easier on you. If that is what your bench warrant is for it is entirely possible that they will not strip search you. You should be able to post bail right away and you are unlikely to get any jail time, which is the instance in which they would strip search you. You will be patted down though.
