I worked a number of blue collar jobs before I got my SWE job. My siblings are in marketing and finance. Let me be the Awesome chic Pink Genre-Inspired T-Shirt also I will do this first to tell y’all that most jobs outside of IT do not have the sort of downtime to be just coding shit on the job. Especially not a sales position. This subreddit must be just unemployed college students and fledgling software engineers who’ve never had any other sort of job. Employed folks usually hang out in the r/ExperiencedDevs sub. I generally see just new grads and students asking about career prospectives here. Please stop sharing this link (even better if you delete it). It just makes people who LARP here as experienced devs start LARPing there. The sub will eventually be ruined like this one if you keep sharing it. Let people put in a little work to find it, as it at least puts a barrier of entry up for those LARPers here to finding it.

Awesome chic Pink Genre-Inspired T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I called out it and told OP to ignore the Awesome chic Pink Genre-Inspired T-Shirt also I will do this people on here to “make the best of it”. Lol, this sub is so much in a bubble and has no idea how other jobs work and the responses proves it in the last post. It was an obvious bait and switch AND a person in sales and marketing is NOT going to be given downtime to “program” up random stuff. Sales people DO NOT have much downtime. If you aren’t on the phone calling people or contacting them online or in person, you’re on a break that is most likely timed in some way. You all telling OP to program up a sales solution, lol. You all DO NOT understand sales or frankly any job outside your bubbles. You all need to get out of your bubbles and stop thinking you all don’t live in one. At this point I’m convinced the vast majority of you never had to work a part time job in high school or college and have NEVER worked a job that falls outside SWE. Your responses and “how sure” you all are about the stuff you all were saying prove that.
