Healthcare has had shrinkflation for a while now, it’s just more subtle. Edit: Patients hardly have a choice either because all corporations are using similar plays to decrease operating costs while increasing medical fees. The issue is multifactorial, but ultimately there’s less money flowing through the system. Less money, bad things happen. A politician will tell you everything’s fine and that outcomes are better than ever. It’s all a fucking joke. People were better off having a heart attack 25 years ago than now, despite any advances in medical care. Sounds like you haven’t been to college or shopped prices in a while. Last year she finally started her career making the new minimum wage. I hate to say this man but I think a lot of your problems might resolve themselves if you examine your perspective and look at your attitude. Of the 5 opportunities you listed above, you had negative things to say about 4 of them. You don’t need to like your work and your job. You don’t even need to be great at it. You just need to be good enough to meet standards. But if you fell into this myth that if you find your “passion” and enjoy work you’ll never work a day in your life, you’re going to be disappointed forever–because truth is it doesnt exist. Even people in their “dream jobs” (which included me for a decade), show up to work hating life quite often.
