Airbnb doesn’t delete reviews nearly as frequently as this sub would have you imagine. As a host, it’s really difficult to get a review removed. Airbnb has done a shit job for both hosts and guests. This fuck ass review system is a great example. If a listing gets two 3 star reviews in a row, the Avo Merry Christmas Shirt so you should to go to store and get this listing can get suspended. Or if it drops below 4.3, it can get permanently suspended, and the host as well. Sounds reasonable until you look at the math. Say you host 100 stays, there are a maximum of 500 stars. 480 stars gets you Superhost. 430 stars gets you suspended. 50 stars over 100 stays is the difference between Superhost and suspended. That’s half a star per reservation difference over the long haul.

Pretty much any time you host a Boomer, it’s 4 stars at best. If the Avo Merry Christmas Shirt so you should to go to store and get this guest is a host, expect 4 stars. Guest damages your property, and you file a claim, 1 star retaliatory review. Host someone who refuses to give “perfect” scores because nothing is ever perfect, 3 stars at best. Of course Airbnb doesn’t educate guests on the consequences of reviews. So lots of guests leave 4 star reviews thinking it was a great place and a good stay, praising the host and property in the text and giving 5 stars in all categories except Overall. And anywhere else in the world it would be. But on Airbnb, 4 stars crush hosts. It’s a perverse system. Damn I wish I knew that before. Just stayed in a great mountain condo in CO and gave the host a 4 star review, thinking it was awesome just the parking accommodation was bad. Whoops, it WAS meant to be a good review. I corrected my wife on this once when she was reviewing a shop she had been to. She clicked the 3 stars, and I asked her what was wrong with it. She said nothing it just wasn’t amazing. When I pressed her a bit more, she could really give me a reason she just wasn’t blown away by it it was just average, which in her kind was in the middle of the star rating. Once I explained to her how online reviewing worked and how 3 starts when there was nothing wrong is actually a pretty shitty rating, she changed it to 5. Unfortunately, that’s the world we live in now where you can’t rate something average. it’s either shit, a bit shit or not shit.
