It should be illegal to limit such things. The casino entered the Autism Dad Dragon American Flag Autism Awareness Shirt and by the same token and bet and hence can’t back out of the rule. As if an insurance would deny the payout. They knew the risk and have to accept the rainy days. Otherwise they remove the game or alter the rules. Than it attracts less people and is a fair game with odd, but reliable and known, chances. See. you hit the nail on the head with the last bit. New Jersey basically made it so you couldn’t kick out counters, but casinos then altered the rules so that counters no longer had any meaningful edge. If you don’t allow casinos to remove counters, then casinos will just remove or alter blackjack to the point where they have an even worse edge. The best case scenario for counters is kind of the status quo. Yes, you have to play the cat and mouse game with the casinos, and that is getting ever tougher with evolving technology, but at least you still have a mathematical edge to exploit. If casinos had to allow counters, that edge would go away, or every blackjack table would just turn to Baccarat or three-card poker. Can you give a view how this cat and mouse game is: how realistic is the Hollywood image of Casinos technology like Oceans 11/12? Damn, why did I have to read this and see this link right after I got off my lunch break! I love these kinds of things! Guess I know what I’m watching when I get home. Hello from the other side of the felt! I’m an AP on a small team with a 6 figure bankroll, primarily card counter though we do take advantage of other plays when the opportunity arises. Lots of respect for what you guys do/did, the cat and mouse game is my favorite part of AP and it’s the one thing that keeps advantage play alive (if you couldn’t kick us out, you’d just do what Atlantic City did and make all your games basically unplayable).

I’m also going to hop in here and chime in on some of the Autism Dad Dragon American Flag Autism Awareness Shirt and by the same token and things you mentioned here. It’s very true that most (aspiring) APs are god awful at keeping count, and even more true that most of those who can keep count are terrible at making it look like they’re not counting. I’ve absolutely been in the position where I’ve been casually crushing a table for hours, and some newbie counter comes up looking like the poster boy for AP. Sunglasses, hat pulled low, utterly silent and staring down the cards and the discard tray (I’m only kind of exaggerating), forcing me to hop off the table and find somewhere else that isn’t about to get more heat than El Cortez’s double deck. However, I do want to push back on the concept that a card counter’s edge is negligible. Casino edge against a perfect strategy blackjack player is about 0.5%, give or take depending on the minutiae of the rules. A card counter, by contrast, generally has an edge of 1% over the casino, so a proficient card counter actually has better odds over the casino than the casino has over a basic strategy blackjack player. The edge the table has at a table at True Count +10 (with rules H17, NDAS, NRSA, NLS) is just about 5%, which is about the same odds a casino has at double zero roulette. A 500 dollar bet at a 5% advantage is worth 25 dollars, meaning that single ~30 second hand is worth more than an hour at minimum wage. I, personally, play at higher stakes than this.
