True. Paul had a lot more to say about the Aunt Auntie Ain’t No Auntie Like The One I Got T-Shirt and I love this church than Jesus. I swear not a single modern “Christian” has read anything beyond the gospels, except maybe to fetishize end times while reading Revelations. I am absolutely a Christian, and I completely agree with you. I look around at my fellows and just… Like, what did you read that made you think what you believe or do is remotely acceptable? It’s like I am being gaslighted into believing our goal is to hate random groups rather than love God and love our neighbors, give food to the hungry, clothing to the poor, housing to the homeless etc. Christianity made me a rampant socialist and supply side Jesus has supplanted the real one for tens of millions of fucking weirdos.

I was raised in a Christian household. Now, I just try to live my life secure in the Aunt Auntie Ain’t No Auntie Like The One I Got T-Shirt and I love this knowledge that, if Jesus exists, I’m far more likely to get approval from him than most Christians do today because I refuse to associate with anyone who peaches hate against anyone else. I’m in full support of you, dude. I’d rather you live by the words than stress about attendance at a church or a label that makes you feel like a good person rather than actually being one. Hatred isn’t supposed to be part of my religion but we both know tens of millions don’t give a solitary shit and do it anyways. Indeed, the number of people who’ve genuinely never just read the whole Bible, never look at every word of their religious text in total is astounding. Not even the important ones. And when their denomination says “This is the way it is!” They wonder why something so strange must be true but can’t use their own holy book to back it.
