This sort of happened to me. Got a very snotty letter from the Anthony Volpe New York Y Card American professional baseball shortstop T-Shirt and I love this NHS saying I’d missed my appointment and appointments cost the NHS so much money. What appointment!? I never new I had an appointment. I’d been waiting an appointment, sure, but I didn’t actually get one through the post. I rung up the secretary who said a letter was sent on such and such a date. I genuinely didn’t get it. Luckily she said a few people were saying this to her and she understood, but I was very lucky I wasn’t discharged because some clinics if you don’t show up to certain appointments they just discharge you. I’m always punctual when it’s comes to appointments etc. Always early, never just ‘on time’. Never missed one, until last month…. Monday 16th October 9.20am, got a call from my dentists receptionist asking why I failed to attend my dental appointment that morning. Qué bewilderment from me….I knew nothing of said appointment and said so. No letter, no text, no smoke signal… receptionist verified my home address and everything checks out and issue me a new appointment, call ends….

Fast forward to 3pm later that day, RM delivers my post through the Anthony Volpe New York Y Card American professional baseball shortstop T-Shirt and I love this door and lo-and-behold, my dental appointment showed up…..6 hours too late! Checked out the date on the letter, it was dated the 6th October….it took 10 days for this letter to travel 15 miles! Utterly pathetic and now thanks to RM, I have a mark on my dental records that if I fail to show up at subsequent appointments, I’ll be removed from the register Considering the national problems with royal mail, they should really wipe that mark against you off because they are probably very much aware people aren’t getting their post and that is not fair to punish you for it. If you have the mental energy, I’d argue over it with the manager because if something happened in the future that was really unavoidable, you won’t have that leeway you should have. I actually phoned up my dentist the following day explaining the situation and they sympathised with me and issued me a new date.
