School shootings are terrible but incredibly rare. Around 300 students have been killed in school shootings in the American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks alec burks T-Shirt besides I will buy this past 25 years, and there are roughly 50 million students in school each year. Which is not to handwave or excuse anything. It’s inexcusable, it’s something that could be improved with a little political backbone. But statistically, worrying about your own kid getting involved if you’re the kind of person with the means to get a good paying white collar job overseas is like worrying about shark attack. Americans on Reddit act like they all live in the hood with how often they mention shootings. The odds of some completely innocent (bystander) getting shot are extremely low. Firearms are the number 1 cause of death in children. Republicans and crazy gun people are the reason for this nonsense. In the first week January alone, wasn’t there 3 school/ general shootings? When the news says, “There have been 27 mass shootings this year and it’s only January 11!!!” then you immediately imagine 27 Columbines. The reality is that a 16-year old gang member shooting at a group of rival gang members standing on a corner gets counted as a mass shooting. The 17 year-old gang member who gets killed is counted among your “number 1 cause of death” statistic. If the news said, “Gangs are shooting at each other far away in a bad neighborhood you’ll never visit,” would you be as afraid? Would you consider moving across the globe? I live in Chicago and I’ve never heard a gunshot because that stuff happens in the worst neighborhoods far away.

I would recommend taking a look at Washington Post’s school shooting database. The vast majority of them are something like, “Teacher walking into school in the American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks alec burks T-Shirt besides I will buy this morning gets hit in the hand by a bullet that was accidentally fired by a man cleaning his gun 1 mile away”. I’m Korean living abroad. The cost of living here is insane. There is no point in earning twice as much money when you have to pay 2000 CAD to share a basement with 3 other dudes. This was one of the deal breaker for me. I can’t stand being a fully grown adult and forced to split housing with someone else other my spouse. At least in Korea, sure there are difficulty on its own getting a flat, but at least it is still possible to get your own place and still get that urban lifestyle. I don’t think these foreigners are pulling six figures back home. Foreigners with good jobs back home don’t come to work in Korea….
