For Kwon, it was more significant than just a red carpet moment. “I am a huge believer in fate, serendipity, learning, and creating beauty out of feeling broken; years ago, after reading an interview with Regina Hall, it seems she shares my sentiment. We both lost our father and channeled creativity to help heal. I felt a real kinship with her,” he says. “I started to push myself as a designer, because I wanted to create beautiful things and help bring the American Classic Armor M4 Sherman Tank Stars T-Shirt also I will do this dreams of other women out there into a reality. I wanted to do something special. For me, it’s not just about creating a pretty dress. It’s about telling a story. Making others feel something when they see it, when they wear it. The inspiration may have stemmed from a place of loss and brokennesses, but I wanted to highlight that sometimes the most opulent things come from these hardships in life.”

Its unavoidable power has drawn the attention of big-name fashion brands, most recently with Ralph Lauren taking note and designing a virtual and physical Polo collection that captures Fortnite’s iconic character skins in ’90s-inspired Polo looks. For the first time in RL’s brand history, the Polo Pony has been redesigned, with the iconic Fortnite llama piñata becoming the new horse. The meeting of two very unlikely minds demonstrates both the storied brand’s pulse on the present and future and the metaverse’s staying power, melding virtual and physical all in one.Valentino has its eyes set on the Middle East. As part of Qatar Creates, an organization that celebrates artistic and cultural advancements in the country, the Italian house is opening its first-ever exhibition in the region. The retrospective, titled “Forever Valentino,” pays tribute to founder Valentino Garavani—just in time for his 90th birthday—and the brand’s enduring couture legacy, featuring looks dreamed up by Garavani and the current creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, along with runway pieces and an immersive scenography of Rome. Expect a lot of pink.Earlier this year, Zara tapped French fashion editor and quintessential Parisian woman Emmanuelle Alt for an “Into The Night” capsule of uber-chic French looks fit for soirées and late nights. ICYMI that time around, the retailer has brought her back to curate a second capsule—this time focused on the 9-to-5 duds that make up a French woman’s wardrobe. Think: oversized trench coats and blazers, straight-leg jeans, fitted blouses, and luxe sweaters. If you’re going for that effortless French girl look this fall, this isn’t a bad place to start. On y va!ROTATE is giving itself a pat on the back by dropping a collection based on its greatest hits. If the designs look even more familiar, it’s because some of them were shown during ROTATE’s spring/summer 2023 show during Copenhagen Fashion Week. What do you get when you combine the former co-chief creative officer of Mackage with a group of advisers that includes celeb stylist Erin Walsh and execs from Celine and Jacquemus? Breitling’s latest watch, the Super Chronomat Automatic 38 Origins, sources gold from a certified single artisanal mine in Colombia and lab-grown diamonds in Switzerland. The entire sourcing and production process is traceable with a block-chain NFT that comes with the purchase of every watch, giving you peace of mind that your newest timepiece is in harmony with nature.Fine jeweler Bernard James infuses nature into his designs, bringing together the natural world and the world of jewelry. Riffing on his signature Flora line, James introduces Fungi, a collection honoring the humble mushroom—an essential piece of our ecosystem that is often overlooked. Alanui’s signature jacquard Icon pattern finds its footing on the High Boots in shades that are every bit daring, replete with beaded laces and the iconic Moon Boot logo. All that’s left to complete the look is a sick pair of skis—or perhaps a matching knit cardiganWhy mess with a good thing? Just in time for winter, cult outerwear brand The North Face is once again upping its street (art) cred by partnering with KAWS on a collection, including but not limited to iconic styles like the Nuptse, Denali, and Himalayan Parka you most likely wore throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. Each piece is emblazoned with KAWS’ signature “XX” scrawl, so it won’t be mistaken for your middle school jacket.Cartier is doing its part to make a difference—by partnering with RED CLUB, its global community of entrepreneurs, on the 2023 edition of the Young Leader Award, which honors businesses making a social impact. Anyone who consigns a garment XL or larger on the luxury consignment marketplace will receive 30 percent off their complete transaction to shop 11 Honoré and other designers on the site, for a limited time. “Within the primary market, luxury fashion is not known for its size-inclusivity, which, in turn, affects the resale market,” The RealReal’s head of merchandising Sasha Skoda tells ELLE.com. “Our goal is to generate even more, size-inclusive clothing on The RealReal, therefore ensuring everyone—all body types—has access to secondhand luxury.”Sarah Flint, the designer known for her sleek yet functional footwear, is venturing into travel accessories by partnering with SteamLine on a collection of luggage in navy and gold, accented with ivory leather handles, corners, and straps. “Traveling is a huge part of my life—many of my designs are inspired by the countries and cities I’ve traveled to,” Flint tells ELLE.com, referencing her own hand-painted print inside the suitcases, modeled after vintage china. “The aesthetic feels timeless—a style that is elegant and can be passed down as modern heirlooms,” adds SteamLine founder and CEO Sara Banks. The brand took over the iconic building formerly occupied by Barneys (RIP) to show off 200 unique trunks made by 200 visionaries spanning all aspects of culture. Everyone from Gloria Steinem to Peter Marino and Stephen Sprouse (pictured here) gave their spin on the legendary luggage, which ties in with the historical and technical aspects of the exhibit that decode the genre-defining trunk. The cherry on top of it all? LV has reopened Fred’s, the legendary Barneys eatery, which will serve food and drinks during limited time windows. A throwback, indeed.Timex has enlisted the unique and free-spirited cult jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche to reimagine a classic gold watch in three distinctly colored faces, embracing the jewel tones of the fall season while still maintaining its 24/7/365 wearability. The malachite, tiger’s eye, and lapis (pictured here) each have healing properties, and Aiche’s signature evil eye grounds the wearer (and wards off bad energy). If you’re in NYC, the limited-edition range will be displayed in a special installation at Nordstrom’s 57th Street flagship, so you can try on the sumptuous knits (and wool-blend shirt jackets, pictured here) IRL.Acne Studios creative director Jonny Johansson grew up in north Sweden, where shoe brand Kero hails from. Known for its signature “beak” silhouette, taken from the very literal beak-like toe and solid Scandi construction, Kero is beloved by locals for its high-quality leather and distinct style. Happy stomping. That crisp fall air is allowing us to finally dig into our knits and layering pieces. This collection takes the phrase “all dressed up but nowhere to go” to the chicest—and easiest—level. The debut collection from friends and former Tory Burch colleagues Ally Lewis and Louise Denny features timeless silhouettes made from natural materials (like silk, hemp, and tencel cotton) and reclaimed fabrics, all produced in NYC. Inspired by architecture and design, Rose Room is named after the place where the Algonquin Round Table and its members, including Dorothy Parker and Ruth Hale, got together in the 1920s to discuss creative pursuits. We imagine they came dressed to impressed. Despite being born in the aughts, Kaia Gerber is a ’90s baby at heart, with her signature style paying homage to her supermodel mother’s heyday. The new colors add depth to the collection, bringing florals into fall.Away’s luggage just got a whole lot chicer. For its latest designer collection, the travel brand tapped Palomo Spain, Vaquera, and Ashish to reimagine its best-selling Bigger Carry-On and Sling Bag in a limited-edition capsule. Each designer brought their own distinct POV, like Vaquera’s romanticized idea of New York, with a suitcase full of roses [pictured here]. “We like that our bags will stand out in baggage claim—a place where there is often so much uniformity and homogeneity,” co-designer Bryn Taubensee says in a press release. “We wanted to make something that could also be a conversation starter at the airport.” A meet-cute waiting to happen. Proenza Schouler is, after 20 years, still a bastion of downtown New York cool, creating timeless and chic clothing that can stand the test of time. Houston-based handbag designer Beth Purpich is championing what she’s dubbed “collegiate luxury.” A former college athlete herself (she played basketball for Auburn) with a flair for design, Purpich sources only the finest materials and most talented artisans to produce her collections. Among her biggest hits to-date is the Longhorn bag, which debuted as a calf hair tophandle and found an ideal ambassador in Austin-based stylist Loreal Sarkisian, who just happens to be the wife of University of Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian. Sarkisian, always impeccably turned out (the woman brought Chanel to the sidelines), carried the new miniature version (stadium-approved size) in burnt orange alligator to last weekend’s game against Oklahoma which saw the Longhorns win 49-0. Perhaps it also doubles as a good luck charm?Getting dressed to head into the office during the summer is no easy task, especially considering most of us are already dragging our feet on the way there. You want to wear something that will keep you cool during a commute or extended lunch break, but you’ll probably find yourself reaching for your favorite sweater once you reach your icebox of an office. Factor in the added challenge of finding a layered look that can take you from your desk to al fresco drinks (like one these stylish caftan dresses can), or hunting down a functional yet stylish work bag.
