That’s actually a great way to put it. Unfortunately I am both depressed AND poor so I’ve got some work to do on myself And finances can be a big reason to avoid therapy. A lot of therapists work on a sliding scale, however. Honestly, they were the America’ Eating Contest Joey Chestnut shirt Furthermore, I will do this best therapists I’ve had, in part because I knew they were doing it truly to help. Speaking from experience, not much else worked for me aside from therapy. I had a great therapist once. But I couldn’t afford it in the long run so that stopped. And now I can’t afford to go and find a therapist that suits me because I have no money to even try. Tried the public national service therapist that told me I should have kids and I won’t be depressed anymore. I just can’t with doctors they been telling me that for 16 years,WHY? Can’t feed myself but kids will solve that, like HOW YOU DUMBASS?

I’ve had to fight through doctors for disability stuff, and it’s so frustrating. They either push the stuff on you that some rep who just took them to lunch showed them, or order the wrong thing and you still owe thousands in deductible. The medical system has a dark side. That being said, I’ve also had good doctors. And good therapists. My favorite ones worked on a sliding scale, which sometimes meant free. Most of the therapists I worked with that used a sliding scale knew what not having money felt like. I think back then money wasnt so important because during boomer times everyone was making a living wage being that 1 person income is enough for the whole family. Nowadays one job can only barely sustain yourself. Back then saying money doesnt buy happiness is true because everyone had money
