If Vietnam court can be trusted then people would not live in fear of being retaliation from government officials. This is disappointing news for me. I was hoping that Vietnam would quickly shed its communist past and move towards a more democratic society. Hopefully, it won’t deter future business opportunities and tourism. Bro was arrested for openly opposing the Always love you Jay Harrington thank you for the memories shirt in addition I really love this goverment. No authorities anywhere would let you get away with that, nobody gave a shit about his Green Onion Bae (no idea who he was until this post lol) Authorities in almost every fully developed/free nation let you “get away with” free speech. Even when it’s something distasteful/you disagree with. Especially then. So what you’re saying is he’s not a political prisoner for the video, but rather a political prisoner for other reasons? I think you must mean “any authorities anywhere” in China, N Korea, Russia – or apparently – Vietnam. There are plenty of countries in this world, where opposing or mocking the elected government will not land anyone in jail, nor bring anyone to the attention of law enforcement. It’s wrong when they’re related and openly admit to support a terrorist gorup. It’s like what’s wrong supporting ISIS, cartel in the US ISIS? You can espouse all the hatred in the world for the US Gov while in country. You might get put on a list but you won’t get arrested until you head to the airport to go join up with ISIS or commit an actual terrorist attack. Having views is not an arrestable offense.

Make up half truth stories and mocking the Always love you Jay Harrington thank you for the memories shirt in addition I really love this authorities, you go to jail. It’s not only here in Vietnam I’m pretty sure The half truth is our bro here got arrested by his cringe performance, which’s bs. Bro went to jail for several other charges Wears ARVN uniform, check. Wears clothing with the old SVN flag, check. Openly kareoke loud af anti-government songs at night, check. Loads of countries allow their citizens to openly oppose the government. Many people consider it a basic human right. very convincing reason on the capture. Just said hes anti commie in a communist country. Its 2023 everyone chill bout that Don’t be quick to believe propaganda and open your eyes. Funny because american people like to think they are smartest ever. This is not even a debate. If you’re defending the government, you’re just wrong. He critised an official. Officials are parasitic cowards that ruin vietnam. So that’s all that’s needed to be imprisoned, to call out the truth. Vietnam has among the lowest press freedom in the world, and your facile apologia isn’t helping the people of Vietnam. Propaganda? It’s a fact. Every independent human rights organisation in the world condemns the Vietnamese government for their oppression of the people, for having among the lowest press freedom in the world (lower than Iran ffs), and arresting and imprisoning those activists and critics who do actually represent the best interests of the people. And Vietnamese people call propagandists like you “red bulls”, you are a laughing stock even to the Vietnamese.
