I’ve been an elementary school for over 25 years and I’ve never seen or heard of any teachers promoting anything to with gender or sexuality. We defer to parents if kids ask about those things, but remind them that all people deserve their dignity, whether we understand them or not.

Basically the only kids who had sex reassignment surgery are intersex babies unfortunately. Some trans kids get on hormones if they’re older or hormones blockers if younger, but that’s also applies to intersex kids and kids who started puberty too soon. Obviously there are some minor exceptions but they are statistical outliers. They still matter as it’s young human lives but shouldn’t he used to fearmonger against trans people as a whole. No transgender person I know has gone through any medical procedures to change themselves. The most they have done was wear binders and request to be called by a different name / pronouns. I’m gonna hop right on my soapbox, and I’ll start by saying that two of my partner’s four kids are trans and I have a handful of other friends who have trans kids as well. My understanding of the process (which seems to start for many people at around 13-16; I used to watch NikkieTutorials and understand her gender dysphoria made itself known at age 6) is that it involves copious amounts of therapy and preparation for HRT and surgery. It’s an arduous process and no one goes into it on a whim.
