Now I have no study to back this up nut anecdotally speaking I think that for someone who has never worked out the Alohi Gilman American football safety for the Los Angeles Chargers T-Shirt it is in the first place but first 6 weeks to around 3 months are the hardest, your body has not adapted to the stress and changes happening once you cross that “threshold” then it does become easier and you do see the mental and physical changes. I actually kind of like working out. I’ve been pretty consistent for 30 years now. Im not super slim, my weight has fluctuated with stress etc. but I’m stronger/leaner/ more agile then most of my friends who don’t workout. I’m thankful to be 50 with no health issues or medications. Now that many of my friends are on the new Metformin diet(or some similar medication) I’m not the smallest of the bunch anymore. BUT I believe I look better(leaner not just thin) and am just healthier in general.

As a busy single mom when my kids were young my motivation was that it was MY time to only think about me 4 or 5 times a week before running myself ragged as a mom and teacher. I also varied my workouts, tried different sports: running(my go to),spinning kickboxing, swimming. I try different YouTube videos for HIIT cardio and weights. I don’t always love it but I know the consistency helps me stay mentally ok (helps with my anxiety) and I say to myself “every workout helps!/this HAS to do something good for me internally long term!” There isnt any secret. I still get anxious every leg day and Ive worked out for 10 years and probably look better than most. Either be a fat undesirable person with lots of regrets, or go to the gym three times a week and check what you eat. Your choice
