I haven’t seen it mentioned but this is pretty common (but certainly not everyone doing it) among sheep and cattle as well. We use wethers and steers (desexed males) that have had a specific testosterone injection out in the All I want for christmas is to smash the patriarchy classic shirt and I love this paddock prior to putting the actual rams/bulls out. We do this so the rams/bulls can be more efficient and the lambing/calving period is shorter and more manageable.
