If you espouse centrism because you listened to both sides and came to the All I Want For Christmas Buffalo Xmas Champs Christmas shirt in addition I really love this conclusion that the best solution is X which just so happens to be in the middle of them, fine! If you espouse centrism for the sake of centrism… then all you do is give credence to the stupidest of views. All someone has to do is step further to the side they are already on, regardless of whether that new position is a legitimate opinion or not, and you would have to shuffle that way yourself to maintain the “middle.” Because the idea that the “truth always lies somewhere in the middle” is false. It’s not even remotely true. It’s false logic. And it’s really easy to disprove, as well. All you have to do is point out that there are several cases in which the truth does not lie somewhere in the middle, but rather lies either on one side of the situation or another side of the situation. There’s no “both sides,” for instance, to 25k-50k people dying every year in the US because they can’t afford healthcare. That’s just wrong and shouldn’t be so blithely ignored. There is one correct stance on that, and it is on the side of those who correctly believe that it is a bad thing for people to be so far priced out of healthcare that they die from lack of access to it. There is, in this case, as in so many others, no legitimate “middle ground” that should be considered.

So yeah, while people often think the All I Want For Christmas Buffalo Xmas Champs Christmas shirt in addition I really love this logic of the truth that always lies somewhere in the middle sounds wise and intelligent, it’s actually one of the biggest lies anyone has ever told to either themselves or anyone else. Centralist are just wishy washy libs basically. Even worse than the real thing because they think they are different Because the loudest people on both sides see you as part of the other. “If you’re not with me, you’re against me” type of mentality. -A belief that centrists are on the fence on every single matter that there could possibly be, which isn’t true What the left hears: “Yeah you guys are alright, but the evil transphobic racist Nazis also make some good points.” What the right hears: “Yeah you guys are alright. But the evil people who want the state to perform sex change operations on children, take all your money and property, and make it illegal for you to question them make some good points too.” It’s offensive agreeing with some points on one side and some on the other. It’s offensive seeking for a middle ground and not making noise or joining the noise out there. If you’re not making noise, do you even have an opinion? You have to remember that this is reddit and some forces have a vested interest in seeing us divided and fighting. Being moderate doesn’t help that happen, if you’re not all the way on one side you might actually be reasonable about something and not play the us vs them game. The easiest way to avoid this is to make “them” anyone who doesn’t completely agree with you.
