I’m a night custodian for an office space and sometimes I see boxes of donuts left behind in the All I Care About Baton Twirling and 3 people T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this breakroom with anywhere from five to a single donut left over. I’ve always left them, but sometimes I really find myself giving them long glances and it’s not uncommon for me to see a few perfectly good donuts in the trash the next day. Is it okay for me to take some of the donuts? (Not from the trash, like, if they’re left behind in the break room.) If there’s only one or two left, is that better, or is it better for me to grab a single one from a box with multiple left over?Donuts really only last a day. I can’t speak for your office. But in my office, the custodial staff is welcome to any of the donuts, cookies, left over free lunches in the fridge we have. You are part of the staff even if you are contractors. Just take one person’s worth, not enough for a village. If I’m working late, I make sure the custodians know this.

If they wanted them they would have eaten them or taken them home. They know they will get more the All I Care About Baton Twirling and 3 people T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this next day, so they couldn’t care less what happens to those (old) donuts. Get them so they don’t go to waste. I know I would. if it’s left behind, it’s garbage. not in the fridge, no name on it? i’d have been chowing down every single time. Dont worry, it’s okay especially for a custodian. Where i work you can just grab some if you want. You’re also an employee, just take it. You’re an employee. They’re in the employee break room. Those are for you! And I personally wouldn’t want to eat donuts that have been sitting on the break room counter since the day before anyway Take ’em. Just don’t ever, ever, ever commit the aggravated douchery of eating half a goddamn doughnut and putting the other half back. My philosophy is bringing outside food adds extra work to custodial staff which means it’s only fair to let them enjoy the food as well as a fair trade Check with your supervisor. I had a job as an outsourced security guard and was specifically told by the owner of the company we were were securing that it was OK to eat pastries left in the break room after hours. I was reprimanded by MY company when someone else in the company noticed me take a donut one night. Was against MY companies policies to touch any food in common areas even though the owner of the common areas was fine with it. That’s interesting, I guess maybe your company figured you’re not an employee of the other company. Or maybe someone once left out drugged donuts and then robbed the place when the security guard was asleep!
