Maybe I’m too autistic to understand, but how is this an example of not handling negative critique well? It sounds like she told the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this haters exactly where to get off and is clear on where her head is at these days. Lesson to all aspiring queens, don’t chase fame if you need to read positive things about yourself from strangers to achieve self confidence. Therefore this kind of critique is pretty much akin to dragging your teen niece or daughter or cousin for not being able to do her makeup well enough yet to read as feminine as she wants to. AND half of the fans aren’t critiquing as much as just outright trying to write the most offensive thing way to shit on the girls. Maybe instead of telling the girls they shouldn’t have gone on the show, we should tell the fans to shut the fuck up.
Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt: A Unique and Creative Design
She needs to put slide 1 on a t-shirt. It’s the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this new I know she’s upset and has a right to be. I just am celebrating that she’s standing up for herself. I really think these online bullies are mostly self-hating, lost folks. And the supervillain award goes to that gatekeeping trans woman who came after Amanda for not looking trans enough. What a tool. Honestly, the season would have been better had Amanda stuck around. She would have absolutely slayed the Rusical (even though it was a badly written one overall). And I bet would have nailed Snatch Game. I just am way more into talent than exact looks (yes I know looking good is also a talent but I’m generalizing). The latter can have major glow-ups. The former not as much.
There are too many mean girl wannabe gays who like to think they’re as shady as Plane Jane but instead of being cunty they’re just cunts. She signed up to compete be critiqued by the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this judges not bombarded by negativity from people who have never done drag let alone been invited to participate on drag race. She managed to gain rapport by being charismatic about her flaws, so it’s a bit surprising to see her trip over critiques by strangers on the internet. From what I’ve seen most people have very positive impressions of her even given her crunchy drag. I hope she grows beyond being an underdog and learns to focus her energy on improving her drag. It’s always the most insecure bitches who go after a queen’s appearance. They’re just telling on themselves for anyone who knows how to read between the lines. Why do these queens always take the bait? They’re looking for a reaction and now they know how much it bothers her. And like, doesn’t she have eyes? Her drag is objectively unpolished, she should be able to tell but she’s delulu

How I can buy this Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt
47 more repliesImagine defending someone who called another person a ‘goblin’ on national television. PJ isn’t ‘shady’, she’s just a vile human being who picks on who she thinks is the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this weakest, and Amanda’s response is COMPLETELY appropriate. This pisses me off. She signed up to be on international TV, and she know that fans will be critiquing the subject material. You cannot just tell people to not criticize you online, no matter how much it sucks. Your job as someone in the limelight is to deal with shit like this, not stoop to their level and start crying on the internet. Probably depends on their edit and the franchise but in short: no. The spotlight is just so huge on the US queens it’s almost inevitable that there’s going to be some hateful weirdos 🙁
Is it just ”negative critiques”, or is it having to be plane Janes punching bag the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this whole time and then having to relive it all by fans that take it too far. …there’s a thing called professionalism. This is not a professional response. It is not a good look on a public performer. Her drag isnt even bad, the problem is drag has been gentrified by rich femme gays and twitter clap back queens, both of which have no pallet for drag beyond boring look queens, because i guess the kardashians and makeup tutorial channels on youtube run by rich bimbos arent satiating enough. Drag used to be, and recently mind you, an art form concerned with comedy, camp and glamour (not necessarily LoOkS) and in that order and by that metric, amanda was fine, albeit not up to the task of rdr. Does that mean its bad or ugly? No, she just doesnt satisfy the an increasingly homogenous market set by increasingly boring gays. Queens like the kardashian (at home) morphine, the ever inauthentic plain jane and the cringe fest of dawn are symptomatic of this problem as is this likelihood one of those three will probably win this season
critique isn’t the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this issue, and you can see that on drag race. she was completely taking in valid criticism from judges and other queens, but it was when her drag was straight up insulted that she had a problem. she’s mad, and for good reason imo Idk, I really feel for her. If I was in her shoes when the Plane Jane Untucked situation happened she probably would’ve gotten what? popped in the mouth I think people need to stop tagging queens and replying to posts that are negative. That needs to stop immediately. That needed to stop years ago. But I also think queens need to learn to create and echo chamber for themselves and not read trending topics or search their own name and they definitely need to not get on Reddit If you need to call ugly to a total stranger just to feel better yourself or as a way to remain entertained, you should really check what is going on in your mind
That line had me on the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this floor. I was SOOO bummed she left. She really made the first few episodes for me. Love her type of energy. Any drag queen still on that right wing cesspool is making a mistake. The less everyone used Twitter the better. Aww this sucks! She’s so sweet and it seems like she’s really been going through it lately in life. She’s still really new to drag but already has so much charisma and talent. Amanda if you can see this keep going! Don’t listen to your haters! Listen to your fans! If they ain’t paying your bills don’t pay them no mind! No one deserves to be bullied for being on drag race. Sure judge their drag but to be continuously called ugly is not “not handling judgement.”
I wish they’d waited for Amanda to grow a little before she got on the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this show. So many queens have applied for multiple seasons and I honestly think she wasn’t ready in both drag and her ability to handle critique/pressure I’m with you, OP. This is why I don’t professionally do my art – I would actually die inside if the world lambasted it, because it is part of me. Some people can take the criticism and grow, but I just shrivel up. There’s a huge risk is sharing your soul with the world, and idk if I’ll ever be brave enough to do that. I feel for Amanda. I liked her. Her drag was grunge and punk. We are used to a polished look in queens these later seasons but she is pretty in her imperfections. I do feel bad for some of the newly self discovering trans girls going on the show, I can’t help but imagine your drag growth and your dysphoria being interwoven in painful and hard to delineate ways
What I’m about to bring up is not a novel concept. At some point in 2022-2023, a good amount of people who like fashion (particularly on this thread), started trying to shift their consumption to secondhand. There are fashion influencers/substackers/ “thought leaders” who pointed out that alot of the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this “worst” purchases on the best/worst purchases list on this reddit thread were secondhand. There are some gems people have grown out of/ didn’t fit but are perfect for you as the end consumer. I do think there are some pieces on the resale market that are there because in spite of the brand name, they would only fit a particular subset of the population well/ has weird fit issues/ etc. I also have “aha” moments later on in my ownership of an item where I realize, “oh the zipper isn’t really working well, must be why the person sold it”. This can be the case even if I shop in person consignment.
That brings me to, what is your “hit-rate” on secondhand purchases? If you made 10 secondhand purchases in the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this last few years, how many did you love 12 months later and how many did you want to sell? Across all of my different streams of consignment shopping, I’ve loved or really liked 53% of my purchases (around 18 out of 34). I’ve noticed I have a higher hit rate if I go in person consignment shopping for sure. Its kind of hard to walk out with something that I end up realizing I don’t love. I’ve liked 2 out of 3 things I bought – roughly 67% – lowest hit rate on TRR (liked 9/17 pieces or 53%, biz model incentivizes big carts/hauls over other modes like posh and in person because of high shipping cost) – 2/3 for the in person store (67%), realized the purse was too heavy for my shoulders after a couple wears, but literally wear the jacket and skirt I bought almost 24/7 when its the right weather
– online purchase from in-person consignment shop – almost instantly regret (0/3) – all of them had stains or felt materially different from the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this online description Curious to hear from other people. My second hand success is great for me! I dont use a lot of my local stores, but I’ve enjoyed poshmark and Threadup (which I know some ppl dont like but…it works for me!) Mostly I think the thing is that I cant afford new natural fibers, and I very very seldom buy clothes. I usually look up the dimensions on the original retailer even if it’s posted on the secondhand item too. This way I want to say my yearly clothes budget is somewhere around $500 and I’ve accumulated a few wool cats (4+ years) cashmere tops (2+ years) and formal dresses (2 years) I wouldnt have been able to afford otherwise.
I’d say I probably have a 80% rate of liking the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this things in person, which I wish was a little higher but I have a much higher “retention rate” of the pieces in my closet compared to clothes I buy cheaper and new. ETA: I’d say my retention is helped due to the fact that I am more willing to pay for tailoring on a shirt made of a cotton cashmere blend I got secondhand for $25 compared to whatever I would have bought new with that money. This whole thread is making me realize I am missing out on the magic of tailoring. I think I’m also nervous about tailoring something too small and then immediately gaining weight and rendering it unusable, so I have some clothes that are my too big just in case clothes. I totally get being unsure about tailoring. I think the scariest thing about it is the mystery though so let me remove some of that for you:
I get my clothes tailored at a Men’s Warehouse, they’ll tailor any normal clothing with a small ($5-10) upcharge for it being your own items. The alterations are cheap, and they’ll have prices prominently posted. From there, you dont necessarily have to tailor everything to a tight fit. Plenty of things I get tailored are WAY too big and I just take them down to a reasonable fit. I also always keep some “big clothes” but for things like tops you can absolutely get a huge visual change with just a “better” fit without needing an “exact” fit. I love ThredUP. However I don’t think a lot of people use it correctly. I’ve found it is great when I have brands that I know will fit off the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this rack, AND I also know how they wash and wear. A size medium after washing may shrink in some brands. Others they don’t. Knowing this info ahead of time has upped my success rate immensely. My only gripe is sometimes a color isn’t exactly how it was represented/ described. I think most of the complaints I see are about unfair payment and honestly that just doesn’t effect me a lot because:
B. Any service that sells my stuff but does all the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this “leg work” (pictures, shipping, payment etc) I assume is going to basically offer nothing every time and I just consider it more of a free service to get clothes out of my house lol. Especially when viewing the items’ longevity in my closet over years, I don’t know that my hit rate for secondhand is worse than for buying things new — but then again, my buying habits have also shifted from online/in-person new (but final sale) to mostly online secondhand (with a mix of return policies). Your observation about TRR’s shipping costs and how they shape behavior is interesting. I could definitely imagine some people taking it as a cue to buy a lot more and return a lot more — viewing shipping almost as one largeish try-on fee. Gotcha. I think the biggest difference for me is that generally speaking, I’m not buying final sale if I’m buying new – so I can buy 10 pairs of old navy/ gap pants and keep 1. But I can still have something in my closet and realize within a year that it doesn’t work for me. If you’re buying secondhand with more lenient return policies then before, that might help your hit rate. But at the same time, secondhand is definitionally something that doesn’t work for someone else – so I wonder if that might be a driver of an overall lower hit rate.
I used to hunt TRR for the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this 80% off stuff and I still do, but I almost prefer getting a little less of a deal but being able to return if I realize I don’t love an item (which reduces my discount but also helps me out in case I realize i hate something and now the onus isn’t on me to resell). I love that — “definitionally something that doesn’t work for someone else.” But maybe it’s more like comparing apples to apples when you are looking at similarly flexible return policies. How are we defining a “hit”? In a sense, isn’t your “hit rate” in the Old Navy example actually 10 percent? You bring up a good point. I think that return policies factor into what is a hit, but at the end of the day, I got my money back for what didn’t work for me. I have plenty of firsthand items I’ve ended up selling even though I had the ability to return, but the return window passed on me. I think with firsthand items and trr items that are 30% or less, we’re paying for the ability to get all of our money back.
For the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this sake of discussion/ ease, I’m just gonna consider what is the amount of stuff I didn’t end up having to donate or sell on my own. But yeah, it is a discovery process, you def bring up a good point. Yeah it does seem to me that secondhand shopping is most rewarding for people who are interested in clothes as a hobby or skill they’re developing, which comes with costs (money, time, patience). It’s not exactly an easy hack. I only buy second hand through brick and mortar. If I can’t inspect and see it in real life I won’t buy. I was just calculating my hit rate and it was 80%. I bought 11 items second hand in the last 12 months. One was a belt that I sized out in 6 months (yikes) and the other I just bought because I love it but haven’t worked up the nerve to wear. It’s just louder than what I normally wear but the fit is fantastic. A lot of retailers online are final sale now when there are sales so that has slowed down my purchases. It’s made me go back to the store and inspect in person if I can.
Agreed. I think when I shop in person second hand it’s so obvious when something doesn’t work for me. I stop in a lot to try stuff on when I’m doing drop offs/ pick ups and 99% of the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this time, I leave with nothing. Wow, this question got my excited to dig into my purchase histories and then a little woozy once I was actually tallying things up. I probably buy 70+% of my clothes used at this point, but I still have some newer items (in particular pants and athletic wear) in the mix. Looking back at the data, I realized that my decision to largely stop buying pants secondhand online was justified as they were the item I most often failed. I have a curvier, mid-sized figure and with how wildly sizing charts can fluctuate, inaccurate garment measurements, unknowns about the fabric content or stretch, or even issues with button vs zip flies, I just can’t be bothered with pants. The only exceptions are buying a pair of pants in a new color secondhand when I already own a pair in that same size and style from the same brand. My hit rate has been on an upward trend, which I think is attributable to the pants thing above as well as becoming pickier about the fabric content, cut, and finding that I am drawn more often to dresses, skirts, and oversized styles now which are all more forgiving. I don’t shop secondhand in person that often, but am more inclined to do when I can try things on.
My hit rate there, off the Alcoholics don’t run in my family they drive shirt But I will love this cuff, is probably closer to eBay than Poshmark, but I think I am more prone to impulse purchasing in-person than online. My ADHD means I can rarely be bothered to go through the hoops to return if that’s even an option, so clothes I fail are in turn passed onto my roommates/sisters/friends and then donated if no one else wants them. so true, agree with you on the pants. I’m a short person whose weight fluctuates and I carry weight in my boobs/tummy. I can do skirts, loose blouses, sweaters all day everyday online (these are a little OS/ more forgiving as well). Pants, I will only buy if I already know my exact size in the exact style and I’m kind of ok with having less premium pants but knowing it will 100% fit.
