Explain it to her in a way where it sounds like a chore and make sure to subtley insult her intelligence, women love that. Explain it is a very specific thing: A man explaining something to a woman who is more knowledgeable than or as knowledgeable as him, assuming she isn’t, because she is a woman. Prime example was the Alaska Is My Happy Place Color shirt In addition,I will do this mathematician in the 90s, who received thousands of letters by men telling her she was wrong about the Monty Hall problem. Explaining something as a man to a woman is usually not mansplaining. And it is a phenomenon that also occurs with other demographics making assumptions about other demographics. I guess you could also call those oldersplaining, degreesplaining, etc., if that’s what you want.

Mansplaining is just a guy thinking out loud the Alaska Is My Happy Place Color shirt In addition,I will do this steps to complete a task or fix something. It’s not usually talking down to someone. I was told I was mansplaining when I was talking about my feelings regarding reaching the sandwich generation ( I am not there yet, no kids and my parents aren’t old or terminally ill). To me that was bs I can voice my opinion. And it had nothing to do with sex. My coworker I was talking to about it was in that point of life but my other coworker butted in with that. But having to get to know them they were a miserable loser anyway so i learned that people often project or try to bring you down like crabs in a bucket. Met many dudes like this. Had an old coworker who tried to make me look bad in front of female coworkers and turns out when he left the company he was shooting his shot with a lot of girls I wouldn’t even entertain for sexual intercourse and supposedly he was rejected by them all. My point is that mansplaining sometimes is just what someone wants it to be. For me it’d a convenient way to say a man has an opinion or explanation that someone doesn’t want to equate positive value to. Sometimes it makes sense, othertimes no.
