Being a techie guy, I was super busy making cool computer stuff and loved being able to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. But then I realized having kids is like the best way to keep playing the game of life even when you’re not around anymore. It’s like the most amazing cheat code! Having Kids is the OG Longevity technology. There are some things in life, kind of like secret levels in a game, that you can only discover when you’re a parent. I was having so much fun in my own game that I might have missed out on unlocking some really special levels. When a child is born, a father is born. A mother is born, too of course, but at least she has had nine months to prepare for it. Plus she’s the one who’s been carrying the baby around with her everywhere. But for a man, fatherhood is a kind of second birth.” – Frederick Buechner
