I usually work until 1am. I had to ask if I was working until the Alabama Crimson Tide Midnight Mascot Retro Shirt and I will buy this first 1 am or the second 1 am. It was the second. So everyone’s talking about how they got an extra hour of sleep, I just got an extra hour of work. When I worked overnight, my out-time got adjusted based on whether the clock went forward or back to give us the number of hours we’d get normally. Ie. Fall back – in at the normal time, out an hour early. Spring forward – in at normal time, out an hour later You get paid an extra hour on the “fall back” nights and you get paid an hour less on the “spring forward” nights. Obviously you can’t go home….the time change happens at 2am. Your coworkers are coming in at their scheduled time so you have to be there until they get there.

I used to work night shift. It doesn’t count as an extra hour on your paycheck because it supposedly evens out when you leap forward. I only noticed it once when the Alabama Crimson Tide Midnight Mascot Retro Shirt and I will buy this guy I was working with said “isn’t this hour taking too long?” I looked it up and it was daylight savings When I was a bouncer at a bar here in Baltimore, we closed at 2. Which meant at 2 when we switched back to 1, we stayed open an extra hour. Usually your company/employer Will compensate for that by scheduling you on for an extra hour, but you don’t actually work that extra hour. In the fire department, your 24 hour shift has now become 25 hours. You are still only paid for 24. But in the spring, you may work for 23 and get paid for 24. I started right when I got in, I changed the wall clock , tried not to look at the computer clock. When I looked at my check, I got I hour OT. My husband just ran into this! Some of them took an extra hour for lunch since the rollback fell Into their usual lunch hour, some of them just worked an extra hour. I’ll note he works retail stocking overnight, not as pressing as medical overnight. I just know the bartenders were annoyed at the 3 am bar I go to after work when it went from 2 am (30 min before last call) back to 1 am, but kept serving until the adjusted 2:30 am anyways and I’m sure the extra hour of drunk tips made it worthwhile anyways
