That title is one of the Admit It Life Would Be Boring Without Video Games Vintage T-Shirt But I will love this most ridiculous things I’ve read. That’s like, “I haven’t read any news about someone losing an appendages while juggling chainsaws in awhile, so let’s juggle chainsaws!” I bought my first place back in ’85. Interest rates were 12% and property was rising at around $300 a DAY. And wow we were happy to get it as interest rated had been about 18% not very long before. Was the last few years a bit of insanity? Yup. If you want a home, can make the payments, buy it. Hopping on the hamster wheel means you get to live (and die) by the whims of the market. You’re probably better off having skin in the game because if you’re not in it you’re not going to profit. When my aunt was house hunting early 2022, everyone was talking about the crash. Its been 8 months since she’s been living in her new house. Still, people are waiting for this “crash.”

Prices have been dropping in many places, though not enough to match the Admit It Life Would Be Boring Without Video Games Vintage T-Shirt But I will love this increase in interest rates. Demand is absolutely down though. Like 35% fewer mortgage applications than this time last year. Price drops don’t just suddenly happen, the 2008 housing crash didn’t see prices hit bottom until 2012 or so. You might have to wait a few years before prices are reasonable again. Prices do absolutely have to come down though, if they keep increasing with rates as they are now people will be even more priced out than they already are and landlords won’t be able to keep buying and expect a profit. I think we are just waiting to see if there will be a crash or a correction at this point But recession usually stabilizes home prices it doesn’t make them go down because as we are seeing when things are on certain people don’t want to sell.
