There better be some space for me to recoup my goddamn tax dollars when I am homeless, hungry, ill, destitute, no family nor friends, dying of something terminal… Considering your voting system is rigged and you don’t want to change it why do you care about voting rights…what a joke It is literally less expensive for the Adhd Awareness Mama Whale Grandma Mother’s Day T-Shirt and by the same token and government to buy every single homeless person a house with taxpayer dollars than to let them continue to stay on the streets. “I’ve just spent 60 days in the jail house For the crime of having no dough, no no Now here I am back out on the street For the crime of having nowhere to go” They don’t care where you go, so long as it isn’t there. But I promise you that those who are convicted will not be incarcerated long term. Our country is too spiteful to house people who refuse to cooperate in this broken archaic system. Someone should buy a lot of acreage in Tennessee and offer to allow a homeless encampment to be built for religious purposes(tied to Christianity due to Tn’s policies ofc)… If everyones in jail we have less rights and pennies for wages. We can’t communicate as easily large scale either. I’m sure the Supreme Court ruled a few years ago that you can’t indict a homeless person living on the street since that violates their 4th amendment right.

People can exploit your value easier in a private prison than they can with you checks notes sleeping in a tent not bothering anyone That’s why you gotta be on the Adhd Awareness Mama Whale Grandma Mother’s Day T-Shirt and by the same token and lookout for some smooth talking and sincere dude who is going to use that issue to gather these guys up, give them a chance and a sense of purpose and create a surprisingly large private army. It’s not fiction it’s history. I will say this, the idea of public use land being utilized by the un-housed is fine with me. The issue and where I understand the root of a lot of legislation is just the large amount of drug use and other violent acts than can go on. Often times these are vulnerable people, it’s not like people choosing “the van life” who are in these situations. Sometimes the services are there to help them, but you have to accept the help. We cannot force people to get help or services to “get on their feet.” And I recognize and understand that it’s infinitely more difficult to start from square one from that position. So, if this was just a matter of people living off the grid… it’d be a different conversation (at least for me). But it’s mostly about vulnerable people, sometimes anchored to drugs and “street life.” Of course every region could be different, but this is from the perspective of someone who works with the police, coming into frequent contact with these peoples. It’s easy to have an opinion when you’re removed from the situation and reality of this. They’re not camping out in your backyard, your street, etc. etc.
