Striking is not an excuse to damage property, and if property is damaged the owner deserves to gain the credit for that damaged property. Just like if there was a protest outside your home and someone threw a rock through your window. You absolutely should have the right to sue the individual but absolutely not everyone present at the protest. I think many here didn’t read the actual article. This is physical damage caused by the strike. If the striking workers had not already begun the day’s work leaving concrete to potentially dry in the trucks, there would not be a case. What this is really saying is that it is still part of a union’s responsibility to coordinate a strike in a responsible way so that no undue damage is caused. In this case, had the concrete dried, the company would have had to replace the tumblers on their trucks, a cost far outside just some late deliveries.

You entirely missed the point of striking. I was a teamster and consider myself a left leaning independent but if the point is that you can’t walk out at noon when all sorts of crap is going to go to waste because of the strike then I tend to agree with that. Just finish the day and say we aren’t showing up tomorrow when the strike begins. Please explain to me what it is going to be used for. They were mixing the cement and people walked off. That’s just a dick move. I side with the SCOTUS on this one, you can protest and strike without destroying other people’s property. Peaceful protesting is a right, rioting is not.
