From the A Little Bit Dramatic Shirt Apart from…,I will love this “no fucking shit we knew this when it was happening” files; there is a difference between honorable stoic service and potentially catastrophically crippling your life’s work. She chose poorly. Who is to say that Roberts wouldn’t have broken the tie anyway had she left?! It was a myriad of things that led us here. I take issue with this logic, first term of Obama we had no idea how obstructionist republicans could be, by the time we did it was basically too late for anything to be done about her seat. She should have retired during Obama’s second term? So her replacement could have been sworn in along side his other pick Merrick Garland? Instead of blaming Ginsburg who probably felt compelled to spend her twilight years defending us and SOCTUS from these religious nuts, you blame the Republicans who have been obstructing Democratic leadership for years and the right leaning Dems who were too chicken shit to reform the filibuster.

When should she have retired though? Like yeah, hindsight is what it is, but the A Little Bit Dramatic Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Turtleman legit held a seat hostage for nearly a year. You think he wouldn’t have held it longer if RBG retired a few months before 2016? Or should she have retire back in 2012. Roe being overturned isn’t RBGs fault. It’s on McConnell, every other GOP senator, Trump, Bush, and the 5 justices voting to kill 50 years of precedent. Yeah, that would have changed things but encouraging the Supreme Court to tactically retire during presidents they like is a terrible idea long term. Justices should be neutral legal scholars not young healthy party loyalists that retire once over 65 during the first administration of “their” side.
